Kanye West Apologizes To Nike + Explains Adidas Deal (video)

It seems Grammy voters may have soured on the overexposed pair, one of whom cemented his reputation for haughty interviews ("It's only led me to complete awesomeness at all times"; "I am the nucleus") and the other as a fan of spanking dwarves on television . When pop stars' uppity personalities overshadow what they do onstage and in the recording studio -- brilliant or otherwise -- we take notice. It turns out Grammy voters, whom the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences says are "all involved in the creative and technical processes of recording," do, too. After all, this year's top nominees -- Jay Z, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams and Justin Timberlake -- all enjoyed (mostly) beloved years. Jay Z's album, "Magna Carta...Holy Grail," wasn't even that acclaimed , but his successful tour with Timberlake, second Made in America venture and never-ending love-fest with wife Beyonce and daughter Blue Ivy bolstered the rapper's persona, even while Lamar and Drake were being heralded as the new generation of hip-hop superstars. Lamar angered plenty of insiders with his controversial verse on Big Sean's "Control," more but no matter: GQ still crowned him Rapper of the Year , and he rose above the Molly-induced noise to take a stance against the drug in his video for "B--, Don't Kill My Vibe." Macklemore may be the golden child of both hip-hop and pop, from the catchy smashes "Thrift Shop" and "Can't Hold Us" to the pro-LGBT anthem "Same Love," along with a cheery demeanor that has done nothing to attenuate his esteem.

Deconstructing The Grammy Snubs: How Miley Cyrus' And Kanye West's Antics Killed Their Awards Attention

I just think its time. Its go time. Its turn up time. Kanye also goes on to explain details of his deal with Adidas, hinting at retaining control over creative direction and pricing: It just feels good to be able to create more, create product that I can control the pricing on. That I can do quality control on. I feel very comfortable to have a great partner backing my ideas and allowing me to think and be creative and giving me that shot.

Kanye and Kim Kardashian seen at Mi Cocina in Highland Park Village

It was after 2 p.m. when they got a table upstairs at Mi Cocina for a little Tex-Mex. Friday night, Kanye brought his Yeezus Tour to the American Airlines Center where thousands of people braved the worst of our winter storm. They were rewarded with a little wisdom from West: Theres two type of people in this world, ladies and gentlemen, see, theres dreamers and theres haters. Only thing that separate them is one thing: Haters forgot about their dreams. Can I get an amen? RELATED:

Kanye West in Hip Hop

Slim Shady relies on his wordplay and creativity instead of a glorified gangster persona as a means to push records. A lack of "hood" has proven to be useful in today's game. As evident by the only two Hip Hop/Rap albums to go platinum this year were released by Jay Z and Drake. Rap is definitely in a deadly decline, but Hip Hop is doing well. Its health and well being can be credited chunkily to Kanye West, who burst on the scene during the pinnacle of the rap industry and reintroduced a conscious and fun loving nature with his 2004 release, "College Dropout".
